The First Whistle: NHFC Enters the Houston Super Cup
The Houston Super Cup gave North Houston FC an immediate measure of its habits, depth, and competitive response before league play.
Preseason stopped being theoretical when North Houston FC entered the Houston Super Cup. The competition tested whether weeks of instruction could survive real pressure, unfamiliar opponents, and changing match states.
The Club's First Competitive Test of 2026
The Houston Super Cup gives North Houston FC a real measuring stick against established Houston-area sides before the league season begins. For a club built on developing overlooked players, competitive minutes matter far more than closed-door scrimmages — every fixture is filmed and reviewed.
August Fixtures
NHFC opened away at Vinotinto Houston FC on August 1, travels to Houston Lions FC on August 8 with a 6:00 PM kickoff at GFI Academy Turf, and hosts Houston Stars on August 15 at 8:00 PM. Training sessions run midweek throughout August at the club's northwest Houston base.
New Faces From the July Tryouts
Players selected from the open evaluation on July 28 are integrated straight into the matchday squads. The Super Cup is where the staff learns which of those players handle the tempo, physicality, and decision-making of competitive adult soccer — and which need Development Team minutes first.
What the Staff Is Looking For
Head Coach Kevin Parada has been direct about the standard: press as a unit, keep the ball with purpose, and defend the counter. Preseason results matter less than whether the group can hold shape for ninety minutes and execute the same plan when the game turns.
How to Watch and Follow
Match updates, highlights, and full-length footage are posted to the club's official YouTube channel and social accounts. Supporters in Houston are encouraged to attend — home fixtures are free to attend and family friendly.
Why Preseason Matters for the Pathway
Every filmed competitive minute is material a player can send to college programs, agents, and professional clubs. That is the core of the North Houston FC model: put serious Houston players in front of serious competition and let the footage do the talking.
