Whether you're a former college player, a semi-pro veteran, or a driven amateur chasing the next level, our two-team structure gives you a clear pathway to develop, compete, and be seen.
First Team
Our top competitive side. The First Team represents North Houston FC in the UPSL (United Premier Soccer League), the Volt League, and US Open Cup Qualifying. This is where players compete against the best amateur and semi-professional teams in Texas and beyond.

Development Team
Training-focused with a lower time commitment and a real path to the First Team. Ideal for players who want competitive training in Houston while balancing work or school, and want the opportunity to earn promotion based on performance.
Beginners are welcomed to come compete in the Development Team if they are serious and dedicated about improvement. The level of play will be higher than a beginner level, but we encourage players who have a willingness to learn and commit to growth.
The Development Team is also open to players who want to train at a high soccer level, get in shape, and improve technically without the full league or game-day commitment of the First Team.

What leagues does the club compete in?
Our First Team competes in the UPSL, Volt League, and US Open Cup Qualifying rounds. The Development Team plays a weekend fixture schedule with a promotion pathway to the First Team.
What is the training commitment?
Both teams train twice per week and play games on the weekends during the season. Attendance and effort are what unlock playing time and promotion.
Are beginners welcome at tryouts?
Beginners are welcomed to join the Development Team if they are serious, dedicated, and eager to improve. The level of play will be higher than a beginner level, but our coaching staff values players with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
What is the expected level of play?
Our First Team operates at a high amateur / semi-professional level and is built for experienced college, semi-pro, and professional players. The Development Team is structured for competitive adult players who want high-level training and match experience, including beginners who are committed to rapid improvement.
How does promotion to the First Team work?
Development Team players are evaluated continuously by the technical staff. Players who consistently demonstrate quality, commitment, fitness, and tactical understanding are invited to train and compete with the First Team. Promotion is performance-based and earned in training and competitive fixtures.
Can I join just to train and get in shape without playing league games?
Yes. The Development Team is designed for players who want to train at a high soccer level, stay fit, and improve technically without the full league and game-day commitment required of the First Team. You can choose the training-focused path while still having access to occasional scrimmages and local competitive opportunities.
Where are tryouts held?
Tryouts are held in Houston, TX at Dean Middle School, 14104 Reo St, Houston, TX 77040. Registered players receive their individual session details by email.
